Every cloud (in this case pestilence) has a silver lining.

Take for instance mosquito coils. We used to sell lots of them in our Sydney General Store. We sold them to people who needed to repel mosquitos; and also to people who just liked to have them around.

Most are made in China and carry brand names like: White Crane, Pug Cat, Zebra Brand or Cock Brand.

I moved up to Karratha - in WA's northwest - at the start of the year, and caught Ross River Virus after a couple of months thanks to the unwanted advances of a too-friendly mozzie. If only I knew I an ever burning mozzie coil could be with me wherever I went. Now I have this to protect me from future attacks!

Keeps the mossies at bay without the smell. Actually it's the feel good of the familiar coil - so much a part of my northern beaches Sydney experience. Comfy fit and like the fabric of the model I've had for 3 or 4 years....time for another one!

| Smoke Triggers Great Memories
The smell of smouldering mosquito coils reminds me of playing Sicilian card games with my late father on the front verandah of our weekender at Bayview just north of Sydney. Highly evocative and emotionally very soothing!

sniff ~ olifactory memory ~ better than the rest ~ by a country mile ~ but ~ why is that? ~ brings back memories of ~ citronella ~ liquid stuff ~ aka ~ cymbopogon ~ winteratus ~ or ~ nardus ~ or something ~ sure to be an ingredient? ~ de rigeur rub down ~ at the beach ~ repelled the mozzies ~ sure ~ everyone else too ~ including the nubiles :( ~ though these ~ then ~ only fringe consciousness items ~ so not a big deal ~ useful even? ~ these coils look definitely ~ better ~ joss sticks gone ~ yin? ~ as for the quote ~ "harmless" ~ o ~ sure mum ~ no carcinogens here ~ "superior quality" ~ now that sounds awfully like ~ a blade runner quote ~ so has to be true :)
