We first presented this classic Tahitian oil to CustOMERs in 1989.

Founded in the 1940's during the post WW2 romantic obsession with everything exotic and Polynesian, Parfumerie Tiki was the first Tahitian company to market its traditional exotic flower infused products to the world.

For more than 60 years this family based business has created the most sublime body softening products. Based on traditional recipes used for more than 2,000 years in Polynesian culture, this Monoi (pronounced Mah-noy) meaning "scented oil" range is made from Tiare (Tahitian) Gardenia blossoms soaked in natural coconut oil.

A timeless beauty staple still sold in local stores throughout French Polynesia, Monoi De Tahiti products are traditionally used to heal, soften and impart glowing skin and lustrous hair. Use in bath, on the body or as a luxe hot oil hair treat.

In recognition for the purity and unique local know-that goes into producing this range it has been bestowed with the prestigious Appellation d'Origine (Guarantee of Origin) from the French Government.

I was in Tahiti at Christmas with a fellow REMO fan (see pic) and can guarantee that Monoi is the "essence of Tahiti": the flowers, the sun, the sand - all here! I actually bought a bottle there to bring back with me, but it was quarantined by Tahitian customs on the way home :( Luckily a kind customs official took pity on me and poured a small amount into a tiny bottle that she would let through customs... I was despairing where I would find more, but of course: REMO to the rescue. Note for users: the consistency is oil-like when the weather is Tahitian (i.e. mid 20 degrees) and hardens when chillier... Dreams of beautiful polynesian dancers come with every bottle...Enjoy!
