In 1988 Shellie Conway, the director and creative talent behind Lantern Paper, received a grant from the Australia Council to live and work in Paris at the Cite Internationale des Artes. Upon her return to Australia she was inspired to combine her talent for printmaking with her passion for the beautiful stationery, paper and cards that she found in the Papeteries of France.

In 1994, Shellie (originally a Melbournian) moved to Sydney and launched Lantern Paper — a name chosen as a reference to being guided and illuminated in a new city.

Shellie enjoys mixing fine art and commercial design in the creation of things that are both beautiful and functional for appreciation by a wide yet discerning audience.

The Lantern range is extensive, but we were especially impressed by the simplicity and ingenuity of these Linen Box Photo Albums (available in a unique palette of colours).

The sturdy box albums feature an invisible magnetic strip closure and a display window with a discreet interior pocket into which you can insert your own photo.

The albums hold 120 standard photos (expandable to 240) and the refills (high quality, archival polypropelene) are also available below.
