Originally from Melbourne but lived in the UK for 6 years - had totally forgotten how great REMO was! Will definitely make a pilgrimage to Sydney when my Pommy hubby and I move back to Melbourne in January 2006!

Found this neat little egg cooker at a gift fair in Sydney. (Looking for interesting and authentic things at a trade fair is like scanning the pages of a phone book trying to spot a typo. It's that rare.)

The Micro-Mac "Eggstra" consists of an aluminium lined plastic top and a plastic bottom with a removable aluminium insert. You add a little water to the base and then enclose your egg. 3 to 5 minutes in a microwave (soft to hard) cooks the egg as you like it; and you can poach in here too.

Eggstraordinary ... (and other daggy word puns).

Joanne Heaver has given this product a 5 star rating | A Great Gadget
I bought one of these for myself and have since bought 3 more. My daughters and friends and I love this gadget. I consider it is also saving water and energy since it takes only 3.5 mins in total cooking time.

I gave an eccentric friend one of these for Christmas - he was so thrilled he has gone out and bought a microwave in order to use it.

Amanda Dalton-Winks

Amanda Dalton-Winks has given this product a 5 star rating | Fantabulous!
Never would have believed that I could boil an unpierced egg in the microwave without having to spend hours scraping the post-explosion remnants from the ceiling... Some would call this a minor miracle - I call it breakfast / brunch / lunch / late-night snack, or just my new favourite gadget - it's right up there with my Zeroll Ice Cream Scoop & Fisher Space Pen - nothing short of brilliant, I say!!!

Anne Rice has given this product a 4 star rating | Great Gift for Mum
I bought one of these for my Mum. She loved it! Actually she loved it to death. Forgetting to put the water in it does cause irreversible meltdown.

Anthony

Anthony has given this product a 4 star rating | It really works
This ingenious device instructs you to break two of the cardinal rules of microwave cooking: "never microwave a whole egg" and "never place metal objects in the microwave oven". In spite of this it really works! I use it almost daily.

Kris

Kris has given this product a 4 star rating | Bizarrely ...
... and against every expectation, this thing actually works - bought one for my Mum and she loves it. Every attempt to poach an egg in it has gone disastrously wrong (WHAT are those instructions about???) but it is peerless if you're happy to boil.
