I loved the original Remo store. It represented what is important to me: Quality. Shopping at REMO makes me think of that fantastic line from Eddy in Absolutely Fabulous, "I don't want more choice, I just want better things!" It's so great to have you back Remo. Alright: let's shop!

| Love the Cream and White Just unpacked my new Remo goodies - love the new cream and white stripey thing - very feminine and just what a gal needs on a grey Sydney "summer" day - lighter in weight than my 4 year old blue and white one - not a bad thing.

| Strawberries and cream Sounds better than 'red & bone' ... I took the radical step of replacing my traditional navy and white stripey thing with a 'strawberries & cream' version. It's still a joy to wear.

| Confused about Sizing I'm about to replace my original beloved Stripey Thing (stolen in 1998) but from reading the comments below I'm a bit confused about which size to order...also wondering what's the shrinkage factor (you say it's 7% for T's, is it the same for these?)
it might be helpful if you could add the shrinkage factor here for reference and also compare the sizing of the T's to the Stripeys (EG "if you wear size X in the T's then you'd need size Y in the Stripey Things")

| A return to the stripe... I have finally taken the plunge (thanks to that sweet little incentive called "discount") and ordered two new stripey things, one blue just like my original, and a fancypants red one...
I really shouldn't wear horizontal stripes or boatnecks, but who can resist a stripey thing?

| No shrinkage here I bought 2 this year (2007) - a red one and a blue one. I haven't had any problems with shrinkage with either of them, and the quality seems great to me (but I never bought the earlier version so don't have anything to compare it to). I love them both, but prefer the classic blue.

| OMG - Best. Stripey top. Evah! Still got blue stripey thing MKI which is now pushing 15 years old and still going strong. Now am in process of buying blue stripey thing MKII (will still wear MKI for dagging round the house, and MKII will be for meeting the queen, etc) as well as a mini blue stripey thing for my oh-so-lucky wee lad who will wonder why his dad makes him dress up like a mini-me.

| Why did it take me so long? I have no idea why it's taken me so long to buy a stripey thing but I am about to buy #2 (one of the groovy new red ones) within 2 weeks of the first one. Comfort. Wearability. Washability. Travels anywhere. Love it to death!

| Quality, value, and (REMO) style I bought one of these about 20 years ago, when REMO had a real store in Sydney. My (now) wife has been wearing it for the last 10 years or so. Say no more!

| These are just the best! Bought one in 1993 and have worn it every winter since. It's a little faded but good enough for the local shops. Have just got a new one and am looking forward to showing it off further afield!

| Good things I am still wearing my circa 1990 'thing', you had the 'new England' colour choice back then (brick red/cream)- are these likely to come back?

| Stripey is King I have been wearing my stripey thing every winter (I'm a Queenslander) for 9 years now and it is still in excellent condition. There is no fraying in the cuffs and the seams are all beautifully straight. (There is a slightly faded patch due to some cheap bleach in Vanuatu!)I have taken this shirt overseas several times and it just keeps going. Love the quality.

| Thank you for Stripey things Dearest Remo
Thanks for finally bringing the stripey things back - these are the best piece of clothing ever. I have 4 of these tops - I've been wearing them for 10 years and I always get a compliment when I wear one. 3 are a little the worse for wear and have been relegated to the sports wear drawer. And for too long I have been having a nervous nelly about my last "good" one - furtively waiting for the time when they are available again so I can stock up.
I am seriously thinking of using frequent flyer points to whizz up to Sydney (especially now there is the STORE at Bondi) to buy as many as possible.
I know I can get them on line, but I have to admit I am a little nervous about the sizes - the ones I have now are size "s" but I just bought a new Tshirt in 'S' and it swims on me - even though I have many T's in that size from Remo when it was in Oxford street.
Hope to see you in Bondi Remo - you are much loved (as much as your stripey things)...now just bring on the swimming caps, note pads and toast tongs.

| Love my stripey thing Wear it all sorts of places and all times of year. Great over something with a higher neck in winter and it is the first thing throw in the bag in case it gets cold in summer. Great feel. Was a bit disappointed with the finish however. Stiching wasn't rolled properly on the neck band, unfortunately at the front too. Still plan to purchase a red and cream when I can.

| Get over it My baby 'cooked' my last one with a pair of brown trousers. On a crawl past the active front loader washing machine, she turned up the heat from cold to the maximum 95 degrees!! Actually, the shrinkage wasn't as bad as you might think, but the Stripey Thing's white stripes permanently lost their crispness and street appeal on that sad day. I have harboured resentment. Time for me to get over it though. I’m sure she has been wondering what to get me for Christmas....Love the weight, love the stripes, can't quite love a boat neck.

| Pity about the shrinkage Finally bit the bullet and ordered a stripey thing. Took the advice and ordered a size larger to allow for shrinkage, but needed to buy2 sizes bigger. Now the sleeves are 3/4 and look ridiculous..... the rest is ok, maybe you need longer sleeves??

| Next time, XL for shrinkage? Many years ago I bought a brick-red and cream stripey thing, which unfortunately encountered some actual cream and after two years still smells like an abandoned dairy farm!
However, I had coveted the traditional stripey for years, and finally bought one from you a year or so ago in 'Medium'. It was wonderful: the sleeves sat past my wrists, the lower hem covered my hips, my breasts were obvious but not the feature!
A couple of washes later in COLD water and, with partly-unravelled hem, it now fits my petite partner very well.
*Sigh*.

| Ouch, neck hole too small for the kids. I bought two kids size ones for Master 3 and Miss 1, and they look totally adorable when I put them on. BUT, the tears and trauma when trying to get the shirts over the poor little mites heads, I have to steel myself every time, and my boy (who takes pride in being able to dress himself) can't get them on or off without loads of coaxing, and tugging, and screaming. We need a boat neck style for the babies, or maybe a larger or stretchier neck hole.

| Half the quality of the original I have a Stripey Thing from 1992 and one from 2006.
In the 1992 version the cotton is *much* heavier weight, the cotton is not as "hairy" (so there is better definituon between the navy and white), and even the stitching is better than the one I bought this year.
It's sad to see such a reduction in quality.

| Stripey thing, you're the one Can back up all the previous comments. These blue stripey things are the best. Can't wait to see the expanded colour range and order MORE.

****Additional comment - August 2007. This current lot of red and bone stripey things have terrible shrinkage. V.disappointed. As with blue stripey things did buy a size up to allow for some shrinkage, but this amount of shrinkage is ridiculous. My husband's one is now sort of the right size for me, but only for wearing around the house, and I can't wear the one I bought - it's shrunk to be way too small. It's not the usual Remo standard.
