Yes, it's true ... there was once a "real" REMO Store (Our Story); and here's the OPEN sign to prove it.

Things often happen the way they're meant to happen. The closure of our Sydney General Store in 1996 was sad; but as we said to our CustOMERs at the time:

"Be sad ... but not too sad. Sooner or later (probably later) we'll be back ... and better."

Anyway, for our plans the Internet IS better ... because it actually enables us to do what we were trying to do from the outset i.e. develop, involve and delight a global community of customers. You can't deliver the customer experience that we're envisioning anywhere else but online. A store can't do it. A catalogue can't do it. We know because we've done both.

Communications technology will enable REMO to become the world's first "General Store" that serves a GLOBAL community rather than one delimited by physical geography. REMO (as a brand) will be predominantly a reflection of the collective intelligence and passion of its CustOMERs.
