REM'O'Matic Gift Guide

Featured CustOMER

CustOMER Since 2003

I was only born in 2002 so this is all pretty new to me. Hell, the internet's older than I am. The old man used to rave on about REMO and how they made the best T shirts. To me, all T shirts taste the same. I'm encouraged by REMO's return as his old shirts are looking a bit dodgey. Can I suggest a new design? I call it the "New Father Stripe" range of clothing. It's a T-shirt with a pattern that looks like a stripe of baby sick down the back, over each shoulder blade. That way, the old man can look fashionable and I can continue to regurgiate without guilt. Hell, it's just a thought at this stage. I'll get my lawyers to look into it.

Martin Sharp, born in Sydney in 1942, has been a well known and much loved artist in Australia for a very long time. Like many Sydneysiders of the right age, Martin recalls his first brush with Arthur Stace's Eternity. Indeed, Martin has incorporated references to Arthur's Eternity in a number of works over the years.

So, when we approached Martin with the idea, it wasn't hard to convince him that HE should be the one to create this design for REMO in tribute to Arthur Stace. The huge 5 metre canvas adorned our Crown Street Window during November 1990 (jogging memories, triggering smiles, stopping traffic, even causing some accidents). CustOMER souvenirs for the homage included: limited edition prints, T Shirts, postcards, etc.

This was a happy marriage for all concerned. Aside from Martin's mesmerising image, Eternity dovetailed perfectly with one of REMO's primary philosophies: the "Buy it once and own it forever." theme. Finally, we also felt that the project served to underline our belief in the universal importance and value of commitment, perseverence and (most of all) ... passion.

i bought the shirt not knowing the history of Arthur or Martin, though as I love the word and the resonance it has with the truth of who we are beyond these mortal frames .. people always comment that they love it when i wear it and now i am able to share the history of this work of art as well as my affinity with my eternal self .. namaste

My brother loved this as a present. It is such an iconic Sydney symbol - he is taking it with him overseas to remind him of home.

At school my hand writing was illegible most of the time, And so growing up in Sydney, I was aware of a man who used to write the word "Eternity" in beautiful copperplate on the foot paths. I took my beau to celebrate the millenium in Sydney and and that moment the word unfolded on the bridge was one we will never forget.. We climbed the bridge the next day (it was a good thing we were tied to it) and it actually made me a bit teary when I was able to buy the t-shirt for him as a surprise... (and to introduce him to the wonderful world of remo) I'm a beleiver in fate, so when I discovered remo on line, I made sure it was the first thing on my list.

I bought one of these in the early 90's, and wore it til it fell to bits (which took some doing). I think there's another one in my future.
